Death of a Philanthropist (Open-Ended Murder Mystery)

At 03:30 in the morning, Karl Papillon, well known millionaire philanthropist, collector of supernatural artifacts, and owner of the Papillion insurance company was found dead in the bedroom of his Chicago mansion with deep claw gashes in his chest and arms, as well as two scratches on his eyelids. He was discovered in his bathtub by his personal butler Mitch Woodcock, fully dressed.

Due to the potentially paranormal nature of this case, and the possibility of a connection to the recent serial killer attacks in the city, the vampire council of the city has been notified of the crime and a request has been put out for an investigator with paranormal expertise to take the case.
